He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. T. A. Perkins and Mildred Strickland Perkins; and his siblings, Yvonne Rose and Ronald G. Perkins. He is survived by: his wife Inez Worley Perkins; his children, Derwood L. Perkins (Jean) of Baton Rouge, LA and Melody Mayfield (Mark) of Elizabethtown, KY; his grandchildren, Lauren Perkins Henderson (Danny) of San Diego, CA, Rev. Kayla Perkins Beck (Robert) of Athens, GA, Joshua Mayfield and Desireé Mayfield Denham (Matthew); his great grandchildren, Brooklyn Henderson, Audrey Henderson, Anderson Beck and Daylen Denham; his grandsons, Danny Henderson, Robert Beck III and Matthew Denham; and his brother-in-law Merril Spurlock.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in loving memory of Abner Laverne Perkins to the Man O' War Church of God Building Fund.Services will be conducted with social distancing in place.
