He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Thrasher and Emma Lott Thrasher; his granddaughter Patricia Elizabeth Wheatley; and his siblings, Mary Shelton, Russell Thrasher, Betty Roberts, Charles Roberts, Billy Roberts, Alford Roberts and Gladys Roberts.

He is survived by: his children, Rebecca Wheatley (Pat), Glenda Baumeister (Patrick), Brittany Niehaus (Matt), Emma Burgess (Matt), Jason Thrasher, David Thrasher and Matt Thrasher; his grandchildren, Logan, Addie, Aidan, Brooklynn, Maci, Abby, Natalie, Eli, Molly, Noah, Carson and Ellie; and his siblings, Martha Burch (Ivo), Shirley Jarboe (Larry), Ada Gilmore and Patsy McDowell.
