He was predeceased by: his parents, Gylear Tongate and Lyndal Walker Tongate; his brothers, Larry Dale Tongate and David Samuel Tongate; and his granddaughter Karrie Nichole Hodskins.
He is survived by: his daughters, Julie Martin (Donnie) of Lewisport and Lori Hodskins (Gary Bloyd) of Lewisport; his grandchildren, Nicholas Hodskins (Gina), Mary Lynn Millsaps (Timmy) and Kyle Hodskins; his great grandchildren, Shelby Ford, Brody Hodskins, Sydney, Cohen and Aiden Millsaps; and his siblings, Mary Walker Tongate of Lewisport and Robert Tongate (Reanah) of Masonville.
