He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Ethel Charlotta Thompson Bennett; his brothers, Ray and Tommy Bennett; his wife Mary Bennett; his daughters, Brandy Boyias (Chris) of Tampa and Kelley Wendorf of California; his stepchildren, Lezlee McCauley of Lewisport and Christopher Sampson (Gina) of Arizona; his granddaughter Samantha Wendorf of Texas; his stepgrandchildren, Devon Musselman, Dalton McCauley and Crystal Elliott; his sister Angie Turnbough of North Carolina; and his pets, Stubby and Puddin. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
