She was predeceased by: her parents, Ottie Edwards and Osie Wilson Edwards; her husband Herbert Ray Swift; her sons-in-law, Joffery Embry and Greg Manning; and her siblings, Daymon Edwards, Jesse Elmer Edwards, Cecil Edwards, Verlene Powell, Gerene Kersey and Dorothy Shain.
She is survived by: her children, Darlene Embry of Morgantown, KY, Diane Manning of Leitchfield, Darrell Swift (Brenda) of Lexington, KY, Dwane Swift of Louisville, KY, David Swift (Elizabeth) of Lebanon, OH, Tim Swift (Myra) of Leitchfield and Tammy Roy (Joe) of Rowlett, TX; and her grandchildren, Vanessa (Aaron), Darrell II (Jennifer), Courtney, Joseph (Samantha), Brittany (Matt), Darin (Rachel), Whitni, Dillon, Mallory, Benjamin, Christian, Aaron and Bella. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Dermitt Funeral Home (306 W Main St, Leitchfield, KY 42754). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. During the pandemic Patsy single handedly cooked a meal once a week to feed the nurses at the VA Clinic.
