He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Payne and Mary Catherine Coomes Payne; and his brother Billy Payne. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Payne; his children, Scott Payne (Samantha) of McQuady, Trisha Flood (Benjamin Dale) of Elizabethtown, Lori Bland (Raymie) of Hardinsburg and Lisa Alexander (Robbie) of Clarkson; his grandchildren, Dalton Payne (Felicia), Hunter Payne, Christopher Flood, Nicholas Flood, Dylan Flood, Luke Bland, Megan Bland, Clayton Young (Tabitha), Sarah Embry (Jeremiah) and Hannah Goostree (Dustin); his great grandchildren, Sophia Day, MacKenzie Payne, Owen Young, Warren Goostree and Ada Goostree; and his siblings, Jimmy Payne, Anita Gossett (Roger) and Phillip Payne (Pat).
Visitation was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday, November 30th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (204 N Main St, Leitchfield, KY 42754).
