He is survived by: his wife Emily Johnson Hicks; and his siblings, Donnie Hicks (Judy), Delbert Hicks, Mona Faye Martin (Billy), Gillespie Williams (Ishmael), Anna Sparkman (John) and Dian Slone (James Randy).
