It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bennie Smith of Leburn, Kentucky, born in Hindman, Kentucky, who passed away on August 18, 2022, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Smith and Opal Church Smith; his wife Marian Sue Stamper Smith; his sons, James Alec Smith and Haskel Ray Smith; and his brothers, Brewie Smith (Betty), Clawson Smith (Betty Flo), Lewis Smith (Bethel Lee), Thurl Smith (Sally) and Revis Smith.
He is survived by: his daughter Opal Renee Smith (Rob Elliott); his siblings, Hack Smith (Alma), Evelyn Sturgill (Alden), Emmie Vance (Jack) and Zeda Amburgey (Dean); his grandchild LeeAnna Carmody (Jason); his great grandchildren, Hunter Hall and Alexis Carmody (Lexi); and his sisters, Elsie Ramey (Arnold), Evia Faye Curry (Charles) and Amey Asher.
The family has requested all in attendance to wear a mask per covid guidelines.
