She was predeceased by: her parents, John Chaffin Glasscock Jr. Mary and Martha Frances Helm. She is survived by: her children, Courtney Akers and Jake Akers (Angie); her siblings, John Glasscock III (Annette) and Betty Bradshaw (Steve Baudenstial); and her grandchildren, Caleb Altman, Wyatt Mattingly, Ava and Ellie Akers.

In lieu of flowers, Mary Ella requested that a tree be planted in her honor.
