It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Patrick Reed Sr. of Lebanon, Kentucky, born in Marion, Kentucky, who passed away on January 20, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hillman "Johnny" Reed and Mary Pauline Hamilton Reed; his brother John Reed; his daughter Patricia Anne Reed; and his grandson Joseph Patrick Fenwick.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Ann Green Reed; his children, Connie Simpson (Robert) of Salt Lick, Scott Reed (Stuart Ferriss) of Baltimore, Jim Reed (Sharon) of Lebanon, Polly Fenwick (Glen) of Lebanon and Vicky Brady (Joe Paul) of Lebanon; his grandchildren, Amanda Kuo, Anne Litherland, Chris Brady, Laura Brady, Shon Simpson, Sam Simpson, Kaylee Reed, Patrick Reed and Caroline Reed; and his brothers, Frank Reed of Bardstown and Kent Reed (Linda) of Lebanon. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mattingly Funeral Home (195 Holy Cross Rd, Loretto, KY 40037). A prayer was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Saint Augustine Catholic Church (235 S Spalding Ave, Lebanon, KY 40037).
