He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmitt Hicks and Roxie Royal Hicks; his former wife Tempy Autry Hicks; his wife Francis McDole Hicks; his sons, Willis Joe, Glendon Leo, Donnie Franklin and Joey Lee Hicks; his stepdaughter Bonnie Casto; and his granddaughter Brandy Bradley Smith.
He is survived by: his daughters, Brenda Bradley (Terry), Mary Hensley (Pete) and Judy Gibbs (Ronnie); his stepchildren, Debbie Probus, Evelyn Ray and Danny McDole; and his sister Juanita Dickau. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
