It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Bates of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, who passed away on June 6, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Virginia leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Johnson and Mabel Bowman Johnson; her husbands, George McNear and Edward Bates; and her children, Charles Lee McNear, Sr., Mary Ashlock and Jesse Bates.
She is survived by: her children, John Bates (Tanya) of Louisville, Mabel L. Hamilton (Lance) of Lawrenceburg and Loretta Lynn Routt (Bruce) of Hodgenville, KY. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren: and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
