She was predeceased by: her husband James Abshear, Jr.; her parents, Clarence Kirby and Alice Farthing Kirby; her sons, Robert Abshear and William Franklin Abshear; her siblings, Betty Jean Kirby, Clarence, Willard and George Kirby; and her son-in-law James Ronald Marcum.

She is survived by: her children, Rachel Marcum of Willisburg, James Abshear (Lynn) of Willisburg and Alice Jean Barnes (Henry) of Lawrenceburg. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.
