He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Leanious Cox and Mildred Irene Akins Cox; his daughter-in-law Karen Lynne Sewell Cox; his sister Ruby Frances Dale; his stepparents, William Dale and Virginia Cox; and his stepsiblings, Edith Caudill and Butch Decker.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane Curtsinger Cox; his sons, Donald "Donnie" Cox of Lawrenceburg and Kevin Cox (Sue) of Lawrenceburg; his grandchildren, Jessica Renea Cox (Jon Brooks), Brittany Nicole Roberts (Patrick), Mackenzie Brooke Cox, Madison Paige Cox and Aleaha Horsley (Will); his great grandchild Temperance Elizabeth Ingram; his siblings, Joan Beard (Richard), John Dale (Terry), Beverly Elaine Powell (Tony), Douglas Dale, Helena Charron, Keena Dale, Juliet Skinner, Lynnora Skinner, Patricia Holland (Scott) and Alicia Wester (Tom); and also, Raegan and Allison Brooks. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
