He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Byrd and Laura Bell Gibbons Byrd; and his siblings, Virginia Lee Lear, Nancy Maddox, Ida Matherly, Jennie Gregory, Peggy Byrd, Orville P. Byrd, Donald Ray Byrd, Lawrence William Byrd, Ralph Dean Byrd and Robert Keith Byrd.
He is survived by: his spouse Sharol Ellison Byrd; his siblings, Margaret Gay and Chester Byrd of Lawrenceburg; and also Margaret Gay. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
