He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Abner and Elsie Abner; his siblings, Kenneth Abner and Joan Johnson; and his grandson Dennis Abner, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Sue Abner (Parrott) of Latonia; his sons, Jody Abner (Kathy) of Latonia, Dennis Abner of Cincinnati, Tim Abner of Cincinnati and Donne Abner (Kim) of Cincinnati; his siblings, Dean Abner (Kim) of Cincinnati, David Smallwood (Karen) of Nashville, TN, Carol Bright of Heidrick, Beverly Lamb of Heidrick and Donna Calloway (Charles) of Barbourville; and his sister-in-law Irene Abner of Heidrick. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren along with many other relatives and friends.
