It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Edward Merten (Lakeside Park, Kentucky), who passed away on April 12, 2018, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Aaron Merten and Ruth Merten; his wife Maureen Glenn Merten; and his siblings, Barron Merten and Mary Ohlhaut.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Anne Walcutt (John), Catherine Clabough, Elizabeth Wilmhoff (David), Joseph G. Merten and Molly Lippert (Michael); his siblings, Robert Merten (Bertha), Ronald Merten (Maria) and Virginia Fries (Theodore); his sister-in-law Bernice Merten; and his grandchildren, Madeline Clabough, Grace Clabough, Anna Wilmhoff and Nevan Wilmhoff.
