She is survived by: her children, Carol Petitt (Edward "Otto" Pernotto) and Todd Andrew Schureck (Alison); her foster children, Kevin Parrish and Christian Madrid; her grandchildren, John "Jack", Katherine, Sarah Petitt, Elise, Tabor Schureck, Walter, Patrick, Grace, Lillian Parrish, Isabelle and Victoria Dobbs; her siblings, Charles Russell McKinley and Marilyn McKinley; and her siblings-in-law, Mary Ann Prather, Randolph Schureck (JoAnne) and Patricia Risinger (Eric).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Shirley's name to Ashland Community Church or Louisville Emmaus Community.
