He was predeceased by: his parents, Mayfield Rankin and Mae Rankin (Harrod); and his sibling LeeAnna Rankin. He is survived by: his wife Gail Burress Rankin; his daughters, Jennifer Wilson and Jessica Powers (Phillip); his grandchildren, Elizabeth Wilson and Hunter Griffin; and his siblings, Jimmy Rankin (Carolyn), Richard "Dip" Rankin (Judy), Andy Rankin (Cathy) and Barbara Simpson.
