He is survived by: his friend Joe Nuxhall of Cincinnati Reds; his daughter Jillanne Brendel; his grandchildren, Hannah Raggard, Austin Richards and Chase Richards; his sister-in-law Marianne Schmitt; and his nieces and nephews, Ed Zimmerman (Lori), Chris Zimmerman, John Schmitt (Ann), Jenny Morris (Dave), Lisa Vennefron, Theresa Schmitt (Larry), Melinda Motley (Tim), Tina Deppe (Fred) and Marty Dickerson (Mickey). He is also survived by many great-nephews and nieces and several great-great nephews and nieces.
