He is survived by: his wife Renee Gootee Townsend; his daughters, Caina Dawn Massie and Alana Nicole Townsend; his stepsons, Stephen James Garrett and Charles Dalton Garrett; his grandson Aiden Massie; his mother Donna Jackson (James); and his sister Leslie Rivera (Cruz).
