He was predeceased by: his brother Robert T. Young; his niece Amy Elizabeth Young; his nephew Richard Neal Young; and his parents, Robert Young and Janie Wilson Young.

He is survived by: his daughter Paige Sims of Kuttawa; his granddaughter Madelyn Sims of Murray, KY; and his siblings, Dr. Burton Young (Cathy) of Murray and Jane M. Barnett of Murray, KY.
