She was predeceased by: her parents, John Simpson and Mary Simpson; her husband Edward "Pat" McDowell; her son Tommy McDowell; her granddaughter Lydia McDowell; and her siblings, Martha Ann Delawson, Bobby Simpson and Harold Simpson. She is also survived by her grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
