He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Phillips (Barb) of Kuttawa, KY; his parents, William Virgil and Ola Mae Phillips; and his daughter-in-law Hollis Phillips (James Randy Phillips). He is survived by: his children, James Phillips (Randy) of Taylor, MI, Danny Phillips (Jan) of Holland, MI and Tracie Clark (Mike) of Woodstock, GA.; his grandchildren, Melissa Phillips of Madisonville, KY, Gordon Kurczyk of Denver, CO and Chester Phillips (Chet) of Holland, MI; and his great grandchildren, Lilith Combs (Lilly) and Ava Martin. He is also survived by his children grandchildren and great grandchildren.
