He was predeceased by: his parents, Edd Phillips and Mollie Caldwell Booth; and his siblings, Lucy Moore, Mable Spencer, Carol Brookshire, Cleta Galloway, Kelley Phillips, James Phillips, Darrell Phillips and Frank Phillips.
He is survived by: his wife JoLynn Phillips of Kuttawa, KY; his children, Patrick Phillips of Kuttawa, KY, Catherine Holland of Kuttawa, KY and Carol Hobbs of Beattyville, KY; his sister Ethel Halsey of Lexington, KY; and his grandchildren, Tammy Fox (Joey), Sammy Holland, Jr., Sandy Holland, Mandy Burk (John), Tiffany Hobbs, Richard Hobbs, Jr. (Vanna) and Melonie Schueneman (Matt). He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
