He was predeceased by: his mother Lena Gooch; his siblings, Vangie Gastineau and Leon Gooch; and his niece Donna Carman. He is survived by: his sons, Bobby Gooch Jr. (Alisha) of Moreland, Conley Gooch (Sharon) of Moreland and Charles Baxter of Stanford; his grandchildren, Markus Baxter of Charles Baxter, McKenzie Baxter, Porshia Baxter, Patrick Gooch, Shelby Gooch, Courtney Gooch, Amber Gooch, Zoey Gooch and Ben Gooch; and his great grandchild Brycen Baxter.
