It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bernie Layne of Kimper, Kentucky, born in Pikeville, Kentucky, who passed away on September 5, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John F. Thacker and Hattie Parker Thacker; her husband Thomas Layne; her son Bobby Layne; and her siblings, Thaniel of Jonican, Jimpy of Jonican, Berry Thacker of Jonican, Celia Slone, Polly Slone and Nancy Slone.
She is survived by: her daughter Linda Potter (Chad) of Kimper; her grandsons, Jacob Fyffe of Ashland and Bradyn Potter of Kimper; and her brothers, Theodore Thacker of Ohio and John Thacker Jr. of Pikeville.
