He is survived by: his wife Lola Slusher Messer; his son James Andrew Messer (Tina); his grandchildren, Jessica Leanne McKay of Louisville, Timothy Edward McKay (Louisville) and Joshua Wayne McKay (Corbin); and his great grandchildren, Richard Chapman, Hayleigh Chapman, Emma Lynn and Ayliana McKay.
