He was predeceased by: his parents, George Thornton and Gladys Lyons Thornton; his son Jeremy Thornton; and his sisters, Malinda Taylor and Doris Montgomery.
He is survived by: his daughter Crystal Arnett of Harrodsburg; his grandchildren, Montana Thornton of Harrodsburg, Noah Thornton of Harrodsburg and Ryver Hines of Harrodsburg; and his wife Joann Bodner Thornton. He is also survived by several other extended family members and friends.
