He was predeceased by: his parents, John Alford and Viola Yvonne Joseph Carpenter; and his siblings, Brenda Gayle Carpenter and John Alford "Al" Carpenter, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Roxce S. Carpenter; his children, Jennifer Carpenter of Clinton, Trina Clarkson (Ronnie), Chris Carpenter, Doug Carpenter and Andy Horton; his grandchildren, Katie Young (Joel), Nicholas Gere, Nicole Gere, Devin Carpenter, Donavon Carpenter, BreAnn Carpenter, Amelia Carpenter, Brookelynn Richardson, Kelsey Townsend, Joseph Kyle Clarkson and Shawn Crabtree; and his great grandchildren, Brighton Smith, Kylian Young, Sheldon Young, Christina Young, Lilliana Gere, Keaton Crabtree, Kayden Crabtree and Corbin Smith.
