He is survived by: his wife Margarette Hampton Whitaker; his children, Frederick Whitaker of Jeremiah, Michael Melton of Whitesburg and Dewana Gay of Jackson; his siblings, Rick Whitaker of Hallie, Grethel Dosh Fields of Hallie, Freda Combs of Carcassonne, Gertrude Maggard of Cowan and Mary Collins of Cornettsville; and his grandchildren, Ethan, Hunter Chase, Jayce, Olivia, Bryson, Addalynn, Travis and Brandi.
