He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyman Merrill and Dorothy Smith Hill; his daughter Tabitha Leigh Hill; and his siblings, Don Hill, Johnny Hill and Helen Hill.
He is survived by: his close friend Lorena Jean Hill; his son JJ Hill (April Hill) of Pound, Virginia; and his grandchild Jayden Michael Hill.
