He was predeceased by: his parents, Shelbert Arnett and Alpha Baker Arnett; his wife Susan Hall Arnett; his sons, Michael Lee Arnett, James Curtis Arnett and Shelbert Arnett; and his siblings, Kenneth Arnett, Alphia Gaye Arnett and Kelsey Potter.

He is survived by: his daughters-in-law, Charlotte, Kathy Ann and Billie; and his siblings, JD Arnett, Ricky Arnett (Anita), Andrew Arnett (Donna), Jerry Arnett (Pearl), Anthony Bartley (Delphine), Jackie Bartley (Delphie) and Gracie Thomas (Gary). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
