He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Simpson and Lois Lawson Simpson; his son Tyler Simpson; and his brothers, Carl Simpson, Larry Simpson, Dan Simpson, James Simpson and Paul Simpson (Rhonda).
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Catherine King of Morehead, KY; his children, James Steven Simpson of Morehead, KY, Eric McIntosh of Morehead, KY, Trena Simpson of Mt. Sterling, KY, Tiffany Taborn of Owingsville, KY and Johnna Simpson of Morehead, KY; and his siblings, Dwight Simpson (Amy) of Winchester, KY, June Ledo (Thompson) of Archer Point, AK and Linda Haney (Leroy) of Winchester, IN. He is also survived by three grandchildren.
