He was predeceased by: his wives, Virginia McCarty Tackett and Ida Gaye Tackett. He is survived by: his children, Edie Shields (Donnie) of Mt. Sterling and George Tackett, Jr. (Sharon) of Jeffersonville; and his grandchildren, Lisa Tackett, George Tackett, Amy Vanzant, Christi Tackett, Curtis Griffin and Candace Griffin. He is also survived by 18 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Herald & Stewart Home For Funerals (1002 Woodford Dr, Mt Sterling, KY 40353). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
