She was predeceased by: her parents, Myrtle Hicks (VanderEspt) and Elvin Hicks; and her siblings, Arlene Barker, Donnie Hicks and Roger Hicks.

She is survived by: her husband Charles Andrew "Andy" Vertrees; her children, Charles "Buddy" Vertrees, Jr. (Dana Eads) and Lisa Heidenreich (Greg Wesley); her grandchildren, David Heaton, Jr. (Julia Nitishin), Halie Vertrees, Christopher, Nate Heidenreich and Conner Wesley; her great grandchild Vittoria Aubrey Brielle (Tori); and her sisters, Bobbie Aubrey (John), Judy Eaton, Sherry Williams and Peggy Beard (David).
