He was predeceased by: his parents, William Gobel Baumgardner and Matilda Gertrude Sweet Baumgardner; and his siblings, Ola Lois, Bernice Gordon (Jack), Nellie Fern (Doaty) and Beverly Jane.

He is survived by: his nephew Mark Metcaffe; and his great-nephew Justin Metcaffe.
