She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Frank J. L. Shelby Sr. and Ola Valentine Shelby; her siblings, Rev. Frank J. L. Shelby, Jr. and Carolyn Shelby Perry; and her niece Jacqueline Cammie Calvin.
She is survived by: her children, LaVelle Smith Jr. and Lola Lowry; her granddaughter Chrysa Jackson (Fredrick); her great grandchild Easton Henry Jackson; her great-grandparents, D'Neiyah Steward of Louisville, KY and David Combs; her sisters, Jackie G. Shelby Stubbins, Shermetta Mayberry (Kenneth) of Louisville, KY and Dr. Rosetta Shelby-Calvin of Little Rock, AR.; her cousin Crew; and her close friend Cheryl McQuilling. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
