He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvin Combs and Hester Whitaker Combs; and his stepfather Robert Combs. He is survived by: his wife Rhonda Greenlee Combs; his children, Robyn Pennington of Manchester, KY, Cassandra Callahan (Timothy), Samuel Combs (Barbara) of Happy, KY, Jacob Combs of Lexington, KY and Joshua Combs of Smilax, KY; and his grandchildren, Rick, Ethan, Sydney, Courtney, Bryson, Timothy, Natalie, Cameron, Michael, Jeremy and Jaime. He is also survived by great-grandchildren; family & friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bluegrass Hospice Care.
