It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mattie I. Guffey of Jamestown, Kentucky, born in Creelsboro, Kentucky, who passed away on January 13, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Earl and Jessie Marie George Birdwell; and her siblings, William Birdwell, Joe Birdwell, Phillip Birdwell, David Birdwell and Eva Rae Garner.
She is survived by: her husband Alfred Guffey of Jamestown; her children, Daniel Guffey (Vandra) of Lawrenceburg and Tammy L. Johnson (Charles) of Russell Springs; her grandchildren, Renee Wurst (Marc) of Bowling Green, Codee Guffey (Hailey) of Lawrenceburg and Clay Guffey of Lawrenceburg; her great grandchildren, Andrew Barnett and Edie Kathleen Guffey; and her sisters, Sue Todd of Columbia and Maye Rexroat of Columbia.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations of sympathy be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, KY 42501.
