He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Thompson and Arlene Turner Thompson; his son Joshua Thompson; and his siblings, Joe Thompson, Chuck Thompson and Sherry Ann Thompson.

He is survived by: his wife Deborah Turner Thompson; his daughters, Susan Dickinson, Roxanne Igo (Rob) and Sherry Thompson; and his siblings, Harry Thompson (Colleen) and Sharon Dewberry (Troy). He is also survived by four grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
