He is survived by: his sons, Matthew C. Gilbert, Michael W. Gilbert (Tonya) and Aaron M. Gilbert; his grandchildren, Matthew C. Gilbert II, Derrick S. Gilbert, Aaron Gilbert Jr. (Sara), Mackenzie Thompson (Josh), Zachary Gilbert, Caleb Gilbert, Tabitha Gilbert, Cody Gilbert, Isabella Gilbert and Addison Gilbert; his siblings, Robert "Bob" Gilbert (Sundra), John Gilbert (Donna) and Virgie Johnson (Jack); and his sister-in-law Anna Gilbert. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Breathitt Funeral Home (409 KY-15, Jackson, KY 41339). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
