Michael Dallas Cook Obituary

Michael Dallas Cook, 51 of Jackhorn, Ky. was born on Jan. 17, 1971 in Pikeville, Ky. and passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Ky. He was baptized at Hylton Freewill Baptist Church, a member of the Boys Scouts of America, a coal miner and a graduate of Elkhorn City High School. Michael was preceded in death by a brother; Charles W. Rucker and maternal grandparents; Dallas and Phyllis Ann Childers Cook. He is survived by his wife: Tara Lee Johnson Cook, his mother; Michiyo Cook Newsome and step-father Clifford of Ashcamp, Ky., sons; Jarrod Sergent of Dean, Ky. and Jearthon Sergent of Jackhorn, Ky., daughter; Amber Noe of Cox's, Creek, Ky., brother; Michael Newsome of Prestonsburg, Ky., sister; Lisa Newsome of Pikeville, Ky., grandchildren; Levi Noe, Brair Sergent, Cainan Sergent, Garrett Sergent and Madison Sergent. Visitation will be after 6:00PM on Monday at the Hylton Freewill Baptist Church with a service at 7:00. Ministers will be Van Swindall, Edgar Sanders and Robert Bartley. The funeral will be from the church at 1:00 on Tuesday. Burial will follow in the Johnson Cemetery at Jackhorn, Ky.
