He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Lawson and Edna Merrell Berry Lawson; his siblings, Doris Mae Botts and Ted Lawson; his son Jordan Ray Lawson; and his nieces and nephews, Larry Donald Lawson, Samuel Preston Amos, Brenda Kay Warren and Rebecca Jean Lawson.
He is survived by: his children, Tammy Swartz (John S. Rhodes) and Troy James (Amy Lawson); his grandchildren, Ryan Vanderpool (Amanda), Josh Vanderpool (Maci), Mary-Watson Stambaugh, Chase A. Lawson and Alexis M. Lawson; his great grandchildren, Savannah, Tripp Vanderpool, Montgomery and Madeleine Vanderpool; and his siblings, Sue Lawson, Karen Huff, Elaine Bentley (Doug), Cathy Amos, Janey Wells, Becky Greene (Tony), Mark Lawson (Irma Groves), Tony Lawson (Christy McKinney) and Jack (Tina Lawson).
