We bid farewell to Barbara J. Hughes of Island, Kentucky, born in Livermore, Kentucky, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on August 20, 2024 at the age of 89. Barbara touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvie Carter and Fannie Lee Bratcher Sutherlin; her husband Gerald Hughes; her daughter Pam Hughes; her granddaughter Beth Widner; and her siblings, Deborah Carpenter, Sharon Simpson and William Gene Sutherlin.
She is survived by: her sons, Lou Hughes (Marita) of Hartford and Jerry Hughes (Vicki) of Island; and her sister Marie Frizzell of Calhoun. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
