He is survived by: his children, Faye Dowell of Irvington, KY, Norma Dowell of McQuady, KY, Tammy Haynes (Spanky) of Webster, KY, Jim Dowell (Jodi) of Lewisport, KY, Jack Dowell (Marolyn) of Brandenburg, KY and Bob Dowell (Glenda) of Hardinsburg, KY; and his sister Lavada Nash. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; 14 step grandchildren; three step great grandchildren.
