He is survived by: his wife Diana Richardson Winkle; his sons, Winfred Leighton Winkle II and James Glenn Winkle (Michelle Brady); his granddaughters, Abby Lynn Winkle Martin (Jordan) and Emma Kate Winkle; his sister Deborah D. Winkle; and his son C. J. Cain (Alex Huber).
