He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Gross and Zeta Gross; his stepparents, Robert Lamb and Isabell Gross; and his siblings, Ronnie Gross and Donna Hurley.

He is survived by: his daughter Rhonda Eckler; his stepchildren, Tommy Boyken, Chris Boyken, Keith Boyken, Jody Boyken and Missy Boyken; and his sisters, Phyllis Durbin, Janet Smith and Sue Newton.
