She was predeceased by: her parents, William McKeever and Mildred Nichols McKeever; her husband Bolan Almond Brakefield; her stepsons, Bolan Brakefield, Jr. and Paul Brakefield; and her brothers, John and James McKeever.

She is survived by: her son William Brakefield; her stepchildren, Kathy Harrison, Kenny Brakefield (Alice) and Tommy Brakefield (Margaret); and her brother Jerry McKeever (Joyce).
