He was predeceased by: his parents, Lenlie Audry Abney and Joyce Dustin Abney; his former wife Fannie Maxine Abney; and his son Bradley Everett Abney. He is survived by: his wife Charlene Isaacs Abney; his daughter Rebecca Rogers (Shawn); his sisters, Teresa Nealey and Patrica Ann Kershow (Craig); his granddaughters, Morgan Faye Rose (Snowden), Madison Paige McKinney (James), Adrianne Brooke Rogers and Billie Pierce Smith (Taylor); and his daughter-in-law Denise Painter.

Visitation was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home (99 Cedar Grove Rd, Irvine, KY 40336). A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
